Busia County Digital Cascading Programme Busia County Digital Cascading Programme In partnership with the UK High Commission, Kenya and KICTANet, Tech4G delivered a flagship digital skills programme in Teso North and Nambale sub-counties in Busia — one of Kenya’s most rural and resource-constrained environments. The programme demonstrated what inclusive, community-rooted delivery can achieve even in the most challenging conditions. Highlights: 52.24% female participation — significantly above the sector norm of 40–45% for technology programmes in rural East Africa. 2.76% participation by persons with disabilities — nearly three times the sector benchmark. Training delivered across multiple remote wards, including Angurai East and Bukhayo North. Curriculum focused on immediately applicable livelihood tools: M-PESA, digital agriculture (Yara, Plantix), eCitizen, WhatsApp Business, and cybersafety. Community Digital Champions model: locally-recruited, trained facilitators who remain in communities as lasting digital resources.
